What is faith?

Posted by: nhiemstra on: December 14, 2008

“In the Book of Acts faith was for each believer a beginning, not an end; it was a journey, not a bed in which to lie while waiting for the day of our Lord’s triumph. Believing was not a once-done act; it was more than an act, it was an attitude of heart and mind which inspired and enabled the believer to take up his cross and follow the Lamb whithersoever He went.” –A.W. Blessings, can you keep alive in your prayers Matt,s 09 prayer Journal 3, that Miraculous things will occur In Jesus Christ Name Amen! Thanks

Faith is the substance of things hoped and the evidence of things not seen-Hebrew 11:1 God rewards those who dilengently seek him-Hebrews 11:6, Matthew 7: Seek and you will find. Faith is manifested or shown by works. It is dead alone said James 2:19-26 and 1 John 3:18 . That is why we must by faith be baptized in his name. (Mark 16:16, Luke 24:47, and Acts 22:16.) By it God framed the worlds-So the things made and visible were made of things not seen and invisible. by faith Naaman was healed of his leprosy in 2 King 5:1-17. If we pray in faith, and according to his will-it will be done. If pray to consume it on our own lusts, then no. God hears our prayers in the valley and on the mountain. He is a spirit (John 4:24) and can be everywhere at all times. Noah was moved by faith and built an Ark to which he saved himself and family and comndemned the world. The just live by faith and God has no pleasure in the deaths of the wicked. Rather now all men are commanded everywhere to repent and believe his great Commision of baptism in his name and the gifts of the spirit will follow as well as the fruits. If one really believes that his/her is on fire-they will get out of it. It’s time to believe and obey his words and it is rather late in this final church age to be playing games. God bless us all by all means.

For all who want the truth I post this. If Apostle -to the Gentiles- Paul was baptized in Jesus name, (Acts22:16) and did so repeadly, (Acts 16:15/33,18:8, and 19:1-5) and said ANYONE who preached another GOSPEL was CURSED in Galatians 1:6-12. I would take heed. Apostle -to the JEW- Peter Commanded (Acts2:38-41) water baptism in Jesus name in the FIRST GOSPEL message spoken to Jews of every nation to: REPENT and (by faith-Mark 16:16) be BAPTIZED EVERYONE into (The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord as per Romans 6:1-6, Gal 3:27, and Col2:12) the NAME (Singular!) of JESUS CHRISt for the FORGIVENESS or REMISSION-It’s equal, of SINS. Then I’d do it. Peter and the 119, including all the other Apostles Baptized 3,000 people in Jesus name that day! Philip and Peter BOTH BAPTIZED (From Baptizo and means to dip or overwhelm in a liquid-specifically water-H2O) Samaritans and In JESUS NAME _Again singular. Peter then baptized in Jesus name, the first Gentile, who prayed down an angel; who told him to see Peter to gain salvation-Acts10. AND PHILIP upon the Eunuch’s confession of faith baptized him coming out of the water-then I’d obey LUKE 24:47 as the Eunuch did that day. He founded a great North African Church that later had millions of members baptized in Jesus name. They rebuked the feeble Catholic one for it’s scriptural departure in baptism in the early 3rd century! In fact Jesus name baptism was dominant in the church world untilthe Inquisition killed many Christians,Jews and others who refused the TRINITY. From 1220-1840 over 50,000,000 people died by the Catholic Church cult. Jesus said that many would kill believers, thinking that they were doing God service. Read your history! The Jesus baptism was openly changed by pre-Nicene Catholic Justin Martyr-90-165. And the Godhead or essence belief of God’s identity was changed or brought in by Tertullian in 197AD. The scripture of matthew 28:19 was changed from…IN MY NAME-JESUS SPEAKING to the titles-father (Or dad for all it matters!), son, and spirit in 325 by corrupt Constantine at Nicene. So if your in a form of godliness but deny his power-JESUS NAME ALONE HAS ALL SAVING POWER-MAT 28:18/ACTS 4:12 AND COMMANDED FOR ALL THINGS-BOTH WORD & DEED-BAPTISM IS BOTH-COL 3:17. THEN I WOULD TAKE IT VERY, VERY, SERIOUSLY! Many will say in THAT DAY… “LORD, LORD..Did we not do wonders, prayers, and miracles in your name (Of JESUS!). All except Baptism which is commanded by Jesus as early as John 3:5 Being born again in water -baptism, and spirit-wjich comes in afterwards as JESUS OWN EXAMPLE OF THAT PROVES IT IN MAT 3:12-17.ANd HE WALKED 70 MILES JUST FOR A SHOW.NEGATIVE. HE DID IT TO BE OUR EXAMPLE IN ALL.Read the book of Hebrews. Those who refused his words but built a house on man’s traditions or sand were swept away in the time of rain and wind or testing. Those on the Rock or Christ withstood the storms and received eternal life. Jesus fought against the Pharisees because they turned the word of God useless or to noe effect.ANYONE WHO DENIES JESUS NAME IN BAPTISM DOES THE SAME WORKS AS THE PHARISEES TODAY!They would rather obey men than God as PETER SAID OBEY GOD INSTEAD-ACTS 5:29. If you want to be condemned with greater punishments and serve God but in vain, then by all means follow traditions of men instead of the bible. The trinity not only contradicts itself and is confusing, but it also contradicts and tears apart the bible itself. But if you love the praise of men instead of God’s seal of approval (You receive and are sealed by the Holy Spirit Or God himself to come in your heart and life after baptism in his lovely name!) and wish to serve a doctrine of DEVILS-Then By ALL MEANS FOLLOW A MADE UP TRADITION OF MAN, CALLED THE TRINITY. Please do not forget to bring the marshmellows to the fire to which you will go to because of unbelief. To Obey is to believe and to disobey is to Disbelieve. In fact you call God a liar. What else is there but swine refusing the pearl of great value here. Good Day.

Believing or sustainable faith, as prescribed and administered originally, is synonymous with knowing Jesus Christ intimately. As given, such a privilege begins and ends with seeing firsthand and personally the open-ended vision of Christ’s “great glory”, for all time to come, in terms of His characteristic and absolute authority over death and life right at his own death on the cross (John 1: 47-51; 3: 1-21; 5: 19-29; 6: 51-63; 7: 37-39; 8: 21-30; 10: 17-18; 11: 25-26; 12: 20-36; 14: 1-21; 16: 5-15; 16: 5-33; 17: 1-5; 19: 30-37). As such, faith is a beginning and an end; a journey and a bed; as well as a divine autograph to treasure and hold dear forever!

If I felt that way regarding my marriage, that I met my wife and there was no daily interaction and relating; if I said, “Hey, I told you I loved you when we got married, if it changes, I’ll let you know,” I don’t think my marriage wouldn’t last long. The wonder of our faith is that our initial introduction is only the beginning of our relationship.

Attention: nhiemstra

As far as marriage is concerned, it is guaranteed to bond into one indivisible unity (like Adam and Eve), whatever the circumstances, on the one condition that both spouses share in common the “image of God” based on the vision of Christ already referred to.

Unfortunately, as romantically as you think it is, the people of the Church are just that, people, humans, still in the grips of an evil world and often influenced by the culture of the world and divorce is rampant within the Church. We receive the Spirit of Christ when we are born-from above, but WE must renew our minds, WE must apply and walk in the Word–WE must be doers of the Word. That is our responsibility.

As idealic as your dreams are of the a perfect human without spot, wrinkle or blemish, reality is that our faith must be learned and then acted-out. Some times that takes a life time.

Then, the so-called “people of the church”, in the words of Jesus Christ, are just as “hard to teach” as the Jews of Jesus’ and Moses’ days (Matt. 19: 1-12). Otherwise, God empowers what He clearly commands leaving little or no room for excuses.

If we have got it all wrong, there is time for a fresh look at the gospel!
