And the same hour was there a great earthquake,
and the tenth part of the city fell,
and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand:
and the remnant were affrighted,
and gave glory to the God of heaven.
Revelation 11:13

The hand of God is still outstretched reaching out to YOU. He wants to pull you from the place of despair from which you have fallen. While He’s reaching out to you, why not grab hold and let Him bring you to a place of peace and safety? In the midst of what you are going through, I hear the voice of the Lord saying, “take My hand”.

Upon reading this passage of scripture it may be argued by some that this should be used to warn the unsaved of the impending judgment, but as I read it I see a reminder of the sovereignty of God, His power and His authority. You see, in the midst of God pouring out His judgment we still see an element of His love for mankind present as He leaves space for repentance. There is always an intermission, sort of a ‘break in the action’ and that ‘break’ being allowed to give mankind a further opportunity to consider his sinfulness and thereby repent. God consistently keeps man informed of His intentions so that there is no occasion for man to accuse God of being unjust even though many have done so falsely. The prophet Amos confirms this act of revealing God’s intentions towards mankind by stating, “Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but He revealeth His secret unto His servants the prophets.” (cf. Amos 3:7) Furthermore, in the very first book of Revelation we see man given clear and concise disclosure of the things that were to come to pass for the express purpose of warning us concerning the intents of God towards us as it relates to His judgment and reward. Listen to what it says, “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto His servants things which must shortly come to pass; and He sent and signified it by His angel unto His servant John”. (cf. Revelation 1:1)

My brother, my sister, perilous times are in the earth and there are even greater perils headed our way that will prove to be very devastating to mankind. These catastrophic events will usher in the destruction of everything, which means that everyone who has rejected the love of God which He has demonstrated to mankind throughout the centuries will at that time feel the wrath of God. It therefore behooves all of us to do some serious introspection to make sure that we are ready for His coming. If we already know that we are ready then we need to begin to evangelize those around us, especially those of our household who don’t know the Lord so that they will be prepared for the sound of the trumpet which will herald the time of our journey home. These are matters of importance which need to be dealt with today.

Don’t wait until it’s too late!!

Word For Today:

As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith – Galatians 6:10 – Every day we are given the opportunity to serve, do we use it wisely?
