Your Help is Requested

Posted on Updated on

Jipu Barikdar, a Campus Director for Christian Life Bangladesh (an outreach of Campus Crusade for Christ) was returning to his house when he was attacked and robbed. He lost his rent; his wedding ring; the salary for 5 of his staff members; the expenses for the next several months of ministry; his cell phone; digital camera . . . I think you get the idea.

Not only the loss of the” stuff,” There were some serious physical injuries: they hit in the head, neck and damaged one of his eyes. So he now also has medical expenses—including medicines.

The bottom line is that we need to help him. We are his friends, but more importantly his brothers and sisters and he needs our help.

I’m going to start with Revelations 12 11, where it says that “They overcame the accuser by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.”

When we act as a believing community that actually believes–regardless of the church we attend–we overcome: period. And the enemy loses even more ground: excellent

What I’m saying is that Jipu needs our help. And I’m asking you to consider supporting our brother in his time of need. I know it’s tough for all of us. Each of us have our own concerns and needs. But if we lay aside those and allow Jesus to rule, we can help Jipu.

A few years ago a group I belong to was able to raise 3k in 10 days and saved a man and his daughters from being made homeless; and just this week raised $1,800.00 to payoff the auto loan of a sister who was injured and about to lose her auto (which she needed to get to work) – that’s overcoming by the word of our testimony – being folks that do stuff’ as well as pray about it: not, like James reminds us: only praying about it

If we can each give $5.00, $10.00, $20.00 or whatever we can manage, we can help Jipu recover his loses.

Please help support Jipu’s needs: Jipu Barikdar – Campus director – Chittagong, Bangladesh. We are The Church and we need to work together.
