Your Cross (by Brian Kinnett)

People go through life, feeling defeated. Life gets them down , and once it gets them down it just keeps kicking. Well I am here to tell you that nothing has any power over you, and no one has power over unless you give it to them.

1st John 5:1Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. – 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. – 3For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. – 4For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world–our faith. – 5Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? –

We all have a cross to bare, and you know what yours is, and I know what mine is. But I know what my Saviors cross was also, He alone bore the sins of the world, and He faced that cross with Joy, the scriptures say.

Hebrews 12;1Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, – 2looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. -3

For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.

So how could I complain, or bicker? How can I be bitter when my cross is carried by my Savior. And I know that there is no one and nothing that can separate me from His love. I wake and face each day with joy, knowing My Savior is there with me, every single step of my day.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. – 29 for whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. -30Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. – 31What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? – ….35
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? – 36As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” -37Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. – 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, – 39nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. –

Does that mean we don’t get frustrated, or mad, or angry, or depressed, or lonely, or have anxiety? Well we shouldn’t but we do, and when we do we can ask Him for that peace that transforms us each day. We are not complete yet but we are being transformed daily to the likeness of Christ, and from glory to glory evermore will we be with Him. I believe that Jesus Christ deserves a shout of glory, hallelujah Amen for what He is doing in our lives.

And we have such trust through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory. For even what was made glorious had no glory in this respect, because of the glory that excels. For if what is passing away was glorious, what remains is much more glorious. Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech unlike Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ. But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord (II Corinthians 3:4-18)

So whatever cross you have been called to carry, carry with joy in your heart look up and carry on for you do not carry it alone, pick up your cross and follow Jesus.

Mark 10:21 Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.”

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17

In Christ
